How is Kambo Applied
A little discomfort to bring a life changing experience
The only safe application of Kambo is through small blister points made in the skin to which the secretion is applied. The burn is not deep, with only the epidermis being removed allowing an entry “gate” for the Kambo into the body. With a Tribal Detox practitioner, the client will be asked to drink no more than ¾ of a liter of water. Once the secretion is applied a chain of pharmacological actions activate in the body with the immediate effects being quick and intense but short lived, usually ending in about 20-25 minutes on average. Typically, within about 30 seconds to a minute the client will experience a warm flushing sensation over the entire body. The heart rate will increase slightly as if one were on a moderate jog. Due to the beneficial vasodilation effects, one may experience a slight pressure in the head that builds for a few moments and then falls off. The lips, ears and tongue may become slightly numb and tingly with the peptides activating different systems in the body. Due to blood pressure fluctuations, there may be minor bouts of dizziness or light headedness. This is all normal and to be expected during a Kambo session. These sensations last approximately 5-7 minutes followed by 10-15 minutes of flu-like symptoms where the client may feel weak, achy and nauseas. During this time, it is common that one may need to purge but it is never forced as it is just a side effect of the Kambo experience and not required. Although there may be a huge emotional or even spiritual release during the purge there are a myriad of benefits the client still receives just from receiving the Kambo peptides. Because of the very low water volume consumed before hand, if one needs to purge, the purge is typically smooth and without a great feal of discomfort. After about 18-20 minutes of a Kambo session the flu like symptoms dissipate rather rapidly and the client is usually left feeling very relaxed and may be washed over with a feeling of euphoria. After approximately 30-45 minutes of rest, the client will regain strength and energy back into the body and will be able to continue their day as normal. The benefits of Kambo will be experienced in the following hours, days, weeks and even sometimes months following the session.
